Drink Taylor Swift-themed cocktails at one of Cardiff’s poshest hotels

The Sorting Room Bar at the Parkgate hotel in Westgate Street is one of Cardiff’s most sophisticated venues. So if you are looking to get ready for the concert in style this is the place to be. In honour of Taylor Swift the hotel is supplying their own themed cocktails and they sound incredible.

Fans of fizz will find a new love with Wildest Dreams, a champagne cocktail flushed with fruity Chambord and blackberries. The Anti Hero has more of a kick, with a bittersweet shot fusing Aperol, tequila, orange juice, lemon syrup, and bitters. Themed cocktails are available between June 17 and 19.

Listen to Taylor Swift and dance in a ball pit

The ball pit bar chain Ballie Ballerson in the Brewery Quarter holds a Taylor Swift-themed bottomless brunch every week including two hours of her music, 90 minutes of prosecco, beer, and pornstar martinis as well as bottomless pizza and ball pit access. This week’s event takes place on Saturday, June 15, and there are still standing brunch tickets from £29 and seated brunch tickets from £34.

Celebrate Pride and Taylor in a safe, relaxed setting

If you are from the LGBTQ+ community or are looking for a more relaxed setting in Cardiff before the concert the Queer Emporium in the Royal Arcade is a relaxed café setting that is also doing Taylor Swift-themed cocktails on June 17.

Starting as a pop-up shop in June 2021 they have become one of south Wales’ most-recognisable queer brands with their profits going towards supporting LGBTQ+ community projects. It is definitely one to check out if you are coming to the city for the first time. You can find out more by sending them a message or keeping tabs on their Instagram.

Make friends (and bracelets)

The day before the concert kicks off, the city is guaranteed to be bustling with Swifties coming into Cardiff from all over. And as we all know they love any opportunity to make friends by making bracelets together.

The Old Arcade in Church Street is holding an event from 11am-4pm on Monday, June 17, where everyone can come together to celebrate all things Taylor Swift, make the all-important friendship bracelets, and ensure they are in the moment and ready for the gig the day after. Entry is free and there will be Taylor Swift-themed cocktails, cardboard cutouts of the Grammy-winning singer, and a singalong.

And if you are a student at Cardiff Metropolitan you are one of the lucky ones because the university has its very own Taylor Swift society. And on June 17 they are also hosting a bracelet-making session.

Get a sense of what’s to come by watching a tribute act

Before seeing the real Taylor you can even watch a tribute act this week. Featuring local singer Nicolette Street, and also at the Old Arcade in Church Street from 8.30pm-11pm on Saturday, June 15, it sounds like a great way to get warmed up before the real thing.

Try out some Taylor Swift-themed ice cream

Taylor Swift-flavoured ice cream definitely sounds like the blank space in our hearts we never knew needed filling. But the fashionable dessert shop Swoon Gelato in Duke Street has come to our rescue with a special Swiftie flavour available exclusively to the Cardiff store. The indulgent chocolate, raspberry, and caramel ice cream is described by the shop as being “rich and fruity” and they have even invited people to get creative and suggest names for it in the comments section of their TikTok video.

Dance the night away and practise singing your favourite tunes

The club night dedicated to worshipping the legend that is Taylor Swift is coming to Cardiff for three pre-gig parties, at The Globe just out of the city centre in Albany Road, in the run-up to the Eras tour dates. On each night, they play every song from three or four featured albums alongside a selection of the usual deep cuts, fan favourites, and hits. You can book tickets from £8.82 here.

Live it up on the day of the gig with a Taylor Swift brunch

There are loads of bottomless brunches taking place in Cardiff on the day of the concert including at The Botanist, Revolucion De Cuba, the city’s brand new Coppa Club, and Gaucho. It’s a great way to loosen up before the concert and also the perfect photo opp allowing you to make sure you can capture the moment shared with your favourite people.

Can you still get tickets for Taylor Swift in Cardiff?

Ahead of her show in Cardiff on Tuesday, June 18, a select few fans have been sent a code which may allow them to purchase tickets from Ticketmaster. They say the tickets are for seats with a ‘partially obstructed limited view’.

According to X user Reputationmol, there were a number of seats for Cardiff released today (Wednesday, June 12), with prices starting at £57.65. They wrote: “There are so many Cardiff tickets if you have a code!!!”

Fans who registered for tickets last year but missed out may receive a code from Ticketmaster to enter the site’s queue. Hopefuls will only be able to purchase last minute tickets through official sites with a code.

Tickets are still available to fans right now through various resale websites. Retailers such as viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy tickets for Taylor Swift’s upcoming shows, too.

Sites such as Viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.
Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale – such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation – to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk.
With that said, viagogo also commented: “viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee.”
