The City of Belfast and Maine DOT are Partnering to Enhance Active Transportation Infrastructure in the City.

Plan Kick-Off (June 10 – 11, 2024)

Public activities include a public workshop and three walking/wheeling and bicycling tours. Each of these “Handlebar and Walkabout” tours will involve walking/wheeling specific streets and roads across Belfast and asking participants to give the planning team direct feedback about the types of changes they’d like to see along the way.

All are welcome.

June 10, 2024 Activities

What: Walking and bicycling tours of pre-selected routes across town

Where: City Hall

When: 10am (RSVP) and 4pm (RSVP)

Length/Duration: Each walking/wheeling tour will be less than two miles, while each bicycling tour will be approximately five miles in length. Each tour will last less than two hours.

What to bring: Comfy shoes and a bottle of water for those walking and a bicycle/helmet and bottle of water for those bicycling!

June 11th 2024 Activities

Where: Belfast Boat House, 34 Commercial Street

When: 6pm – 7:30pm
