A community news column for the Joshua Tree area, published weekly in the Hi-Desert Weekender.

“Conjuring Cathy Allen” is presented by Positional Projects with scheduled events, audio and self-guided tours through June 2.

Though our community lost Cathy in February 2022, you can experience the ethos of her art at her open studio located at 79098 Sunvale Road. Join on weekends or schedule a special visit by appointment to immerse yourself in Cathy’s cultural impact. Take a self-guided tour outdoors across Joshua Tree or Wonder Valley, engage in events in response to her work in Twentynine Palms, and get a firsthand look at the inspiration behind her life and work.
